Automated Business Processes

What is business process automation (BPA)?

Business process automation (BPA) uses software to carry out recurring business work, such as moving information between systems, preparing reports, or routing requests for approval.

Your business does work every week that a computer should do.

At Automated Business Processes (ABP), we build custom Automations around that work, so your people have more room for the customers, decisions, and opportunities that need them.

The opportunity

What could your people do with less repeat work?

Following up with a customer. Making a decision. Improving a service. Or taking on more work without adding the same amount of administration.

Start with work you recognize: information entered twice, a report assembled every week, or a request passed between people. Those are places to ask what software could take on.

Business process automation examples

Picture the work handled differently.

Three kinds of everyday work that software can take on. If one looks familiar, that is a good place to start.

From an inquiry to the right next step

TodayAn inquiry arrives. Someone copies the details into the customer system, works out who should handle it, and keeps track of the follow-up.

With an AutomationSoftware creates the record, assigns it using your rules, and flags missing information. Your people handle the conversation and the decisions.

A weekly report without the weekly assembly

TodayBefore anyone can use the report, someone gathers exports, matches records, and puts the numbers into the same format.

With an AutomationSoftware collects data from the agreed sources, prepares the report, and flags discrepancies for review. Your people use the information instead of assembling it.

A signed client ready for the next stage

TodayA new client means documents to request, records to create, and work to assign across the business.

With an AutomationSoftware coordinates those steps and shows what is still missing. Your people keep the approvals and the client relationship.

Built around your business

Your way of working. Custom software to support it.

We build custom software Automations, integrations, portals, and dashboards. A project might connect the software you already use, add a capability those tools are missing, or bring several parts of an operation together.

Start with what you want to happen. We work out which parts software should handle and build around the tools, rules, and approvals you already have.

Keep the decisions that need you

Automate the preparation. Keep the judgment.

A request can be prepared and sent to an approver without software making the approval. An unusual case can be flagged for a person instead of pushed through the normal path.

Those boundaries are built into your Automation: what runs on its own, what waits for your review, and what happens when something is missing. You keep the decisions that matter.

Where to start

Bring the work you want handled.

You may have one process in mind, or several parts of the business that should work together. Tell us what happens today and what you would like to be different. That is enough to begin.

See what we build, then review project pricing when you are ready to think about scope and budget.

Questions before you explore

What this could mean for your business

Do we have to replace our current software?

Not necessarily. A custom Automation can connect the tools you already use or add a capability around them.

Can we start with one process?

Yes. We can begin with one piece of work or a broader set of connected processes. The scope follows the result you want, not a requirement to automate everything at once.

Is business process automation (BPA) the same as workflow automation?

Workflow automation usually moves one task or approval along a defined path. Business process automation covers a whole process across the systems it touches, the data it needs, and the exceptions people still decide. We build both.

Is business process automation the same as AI?

No. An Automation can follow defined rules without AI. AI may help with a particular part, such as classifying an incoming message, while approvals and exceptions still follow the agreed process.

Do we need a technical plan before contacting you?

No. Start with the work as it happens now and the result you want. A recent example can help explain it. Choosing the software and defining what it should do are part of shaping the project.

Which work would you like software to take on?

Think about what your business could do with that work handled differently. See the Automations and custom systems we build, and where yours could begin.
